The terms that come with every license.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Introduction
This License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you, the person or business that buys or uses our software ("you" or "Licensee"), and Tech Improvement Inc., which operates under the brand Techimprovement ("we", "us" or "Licensor"). It applies to the Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce extensions sold through our online store.
By purchasing, downloading, installing or using an extension, you accept this Agreement. If you accept it on behalf of a company or a client, you confirm that you are authorized to do so. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
Our Shopify apps and support subscriptions are not licensed under this Agreement. They are covered by our Terms and Conditions and, for Shopify apps, also by Shopify's terms. Our Terms and Conditions apply to extension purchases as well; if they conflict with this Agreement on how an extension may be used, this Agreement takes priority.
Definitions
- Software means a Magento 2 or Adobe Commerce extension you buy from us, including its source code, documentation and any Updates.
- License Key means the key we issue for each license you buy, which activates the Software on one Production Domain.
- Production Domain means the single domain name of the live store that you register for a license.
- Development Environment means a non-public installation used only for development, testing or staging, as described in "Development and Staging Use".
- Composer Access Key means a key you generate in your account to install the Software from our private Composer repository.
- Updates means new versions, fixes and improvements of the Software that we release.
License Grant
Once the license fee has been paid in full, we grant you a non-exclusive, perpetual license to install and use the Software on one production store running at one Production Domain, together with the Development Environments allowed below. The license cannot be transferred except as described in "Agencies and License Transfers".
The license is a one-time purchase: there is no recurring fee to keep using the Software. Each additional production store or Production Domain needs its own license.
The Software is licensed, not sold. Any rights not expressly granted in this Agreement are reserved by us.
License Key and Domain Activation
- Each License Key is bound to one Production Domain and can be activated once.
- After activation, the License Key works only on that Production Domain and on the Development Environments that belong to it.
- If you need to move the Software to a different domain, for example after a rebrand or a platform migration, contact us. We may rebind the License Key at our discretion once the Software is no longer used on the original domain.
- You must not bypass, disable or alter the license check, or use a License Key on any domain other than the one it was issued for.
Development and Staging Use
You may install the Software on the following without buying extra licenses:
- staging or testing subdomains of your Production Domain (for example, staging.example.com when your Production Domain is example.com); and
- local development machines accessed through localhost or a local (private) IP address.
These installations may be used only to develop, test and stage the licensed store. They must not be open to the public as a live store or used to serve real customers.
Delivery and Composer Access
After purchase, you can download the Software as a ZIP archive from your account or install it from our private Composer repository. To use the repository, you generate Composer Access Keys in your account.
- Composer Access Keys are personal to you and must be kept confidential. Do not commit them to public repositories or share them with anyone other than your team and the developers working on your licensed store.
- You may bind a Composer Access Key to a licensed domain, and we recommend that you do.
- We log each Composer download, including the package, version, IP address and time, to protect the repository and detect misuse. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this information.
- We may revoke or reset a Composer Access Key that appears to have been leaked, shared or used in breach of this Agreement, and we will let you know when we do so.
Updates and Support
Your license includes free Updates to the Software for as long as we release them. You can download Updates from your account or install them through Composer. We decide what Updates contain and when they are released, and we do not promise that the Software will be updated for every future version of Magento, Adobe Commerce, PHP or third-party extensions.
If you find a defect, report it to info@techimprovement.net with a description, the steps to reproduce it and the versions you are using. We will make reasonable efforts to investigate and fix defects in unmodified Software. Installation, configuration, customization and other development work are not included in the license; they are available through our paid support subscriptions.
Modifications
You may modify the Software's source code for use on your own licensed store, for example to adapt it to your theme or business rules. Modified Software remains subject to this Agreement. We are not responsible for problems caused by modifications, and Updates may overwrite changes made directly to the Software's files, so we recommend keeping your changes in a separate module or theme wherever possible.
Restrictions
Unless this Agreement expressly allows it, you must not:
- use the Software on more production stores or Production Domains than you have licenses for;
- sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute or give away the Software or any part of it, modified or not;
- publish the Software or its source code in a public repository, package registry, marketplace or file-sharing service;
- share License Keys or Composer Access Keys with anyone who is not working on your licensed store;
- remove or alter copyright, license or ownership notices in the Software;
- circumvent or interfere with license activation, domain checks or download controls;
- use the Software, or code taken from it, to build a product that competes with it; or
- use the Software in breach of any applicable law.
Agencies and License Transfers
Agencies and freelance developers may buy licenses for their clients' stores. In that case, the license belongs to the client's production store. The agency must pass the Software and this Agreement on to the client and must not reuse the License Key for any other store.
You may transfer a license to a new owner of the licensed store, for example when the business is sold, provided that you tell us in writing beforehand, the new owner accepts this Agreement, and you stop using the Software and delete all copies under your control. Licenses cannot be transferred in any other way.
Ownership and Third-Party Components
The Software, including its code, design and documentation, is owned by Tech Improvement Inc. and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your license gives you the right to use the Software; it does not give you ownership of it.
The Software may include open-source components. Those components are covered by their own licenses, which take priority over this Agreement for those components where the two differ. Magento and Adobe Commerce are trademarks of Adobe Inc. and are used here only to describe compatibility.
Fees and Refunds
License fees are shown on the product page at the time of purchase and are paid once per license. Because the Software is delivered digitally, payments are generally non-refundable once a License Key or download has been provided, except where a refund is required by applicable law or where Tech Improvement Inc. confirms a material defect in the Software that it cannot fix within a reasonable time.
To request a refund, email info@techimprovement.net with your order number and a description of the problem. If a refund is issued, the license ends and you must remove the Software and delete all copies under your control.
Termination
This Agreement stays in effect until it is terminated. It ends automatically if you breach it and do not correct the breach within 14 days of our notice, or immediately if the breach cannot be corrected, such as redistribution of the Software.
When the license ends, we may deactivate the License Key and revoke your Composer Access Keys, and you must stop using the Software and delete all copies under your control, including those in Development Environments. The sections on ownership, restrictions, warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability and governing law continue to apply after termination.
Warranty Disclaimer
We build and test the Software carefully, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be free of errors, will work with every theme, extension, hosting setup or platform version, or will meet all of your requirements.
You are responsible for backing up your store, testing the Software and each Update in a Development Environment before deploying to production, and making sure your use of the Software complies with the laws that apply to your business.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tech Improvement Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, sales, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Software or this Agreement, even if we were advised that such damages were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to a license will not exceed the amount you paid for that license. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Any dispute arising out of this Agreement will be heard exclusively by the courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection you have under mandatory consumer laws that cannot be excluded by contract.
Changes and Contact
We may update this Agreement from time to time. Changes apply to licenses purchased, and Updates installed, after the new version is published on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this Agreement last changed.
If you have questions about this Agreement or your license, email info@techimprovement.net or use our contact page.
