Details
The Magento 2 checkout agreements extension from Tech Improvement Inc. lets you collect required agreement acceptance during checkout and keep audit evidence of every signature. Agreement is sold as a digital download and is available for Community, Enterprise and Magento Cloud.
Magento 2 checkout agreements that enforce acceptance
Agreement combines required checkout agreements, hosted signing, B2B proof workflows and audit evidence in one extension. It enforces required acceptance on native Magento order placement, so shoppers must accept the agreements you configure before they can place an order.
Key features
- Required checkout agreements configured in the admin
- Hosted signing for agreement acceptance
- B2B proof workflows
- Audit evidence for retained acceptance records
- Configurable retention policy
- Layout support for the Hyvä Theme built into the module
Benefits for your store
You keep a record of agreement acceptance, which helps with audit needs and B2B proof requirements. Customers see the agreements during checkout and accept the required ones before they place an order.

Change Log
Version 2.3.1 – October 24, 2026
New
- Added a customer user guide covering installation with Composer, configuration, usage and troubleshooting.
Fixed
- Subscription renewals now reuse the original order's signed agreements for the life of the subscription, including when the checkout receipt or signing link has expired. The original versions stay attached to renewal orders, and their supporting evidence is kept until the subscription ends.
- Reuse is checked against the renewal transaction, customer, store, product and original order item. Cancelled, expired or revoked agreements stop being reused. New purchases keep the normal validation.
Earlier versions (4)
Version 2.3.0 – October 20, 2026
Improved
- The module is renamed to Techimprovement_Agreement. Run setup:upgrade to migrate the module registry, admin role, integration permissions and product attribute classes. See the README section "Upgrading from 2.2 or earlier".
- Evidence PDFs no longer show agreement version numbers or the Magento order ID. The order number is kept, and the store name replaces "Magento", including as the PDF author.
- The order evidence cover now matches the order confirmation email, showing the placed date, customer, billing and shipping address, payment and shipping method, items and totals.
- In evidence PDFs, the signer is the full legal name typed in the agreement form for typed signatures. Otherwise it is the first and last name of the person who placed the order, or the invited signer for B2B agreements and proofs.
- The storefront signing dialog shows only the agreement title, without the "Agreement" label above it.
- On B2B agreement and proof pages, the signed agreement is shown on the page, with its signature and signer details. Back, Open Evidence PDF and Send Email are in the button bar at the top.
Fixed
- Line breaks in evidence PDF text blocks were no longer kept and the text ran together on one line. This is fixed.
Version 2.2.0 – October 20, 2026
New
- Added a Send Email button on the B2B agreement and custom-order proof pages, available at any time. After signing, it emails the signed agreement with the evidence PDF attached and a link to open it. Before signing, it sends the secure signing link; an expired B2B link is replaced with a new one.
- Emails are sent immediately and retried by cron if delivery fails. Each send is recorded in the audit trail.
Fixed
- The Required Agreement attribute was missing from products in attribute sets created after the module was installed. Every product attribute set now has it, and attribute sets where it was moved to another group keep that placement.
- The Agreements section on the product page moved from the end of the page to below Product Details, and it is open by default.
Version 2.1.0 – October 20, 2026
New
- One Step Checkout Placement setting: agreements can be shown inside the selected payment method (the new default) or at the Checkout Builder component position. The panel follows the shopper when another payment method is selected and keeps the signed state.
- Evidence emails now include a button that opens the evidence PDF in a new tab, in addition to the attached PDF. The link is signed and expires after the period set in Evidence PDF Link Lifetime (default 30 days). It works for guest shoppers too.
- Magento's order confirmation email can now include the order evidence PDF as an attachment and a link to it, controlled by the Attach Evidence to Order Confirmation Email setting (default Yes).
Improved
- The storefront no longer shows agreement version numbers in the panel, signing dialog, hosted signing page, customer order page or completed-agreement email. Versions remain in the evidence PDFs and the admin.
- The app no longer exposes the module version to the browser.
- Requires symfony/mime, which is already installed with Magento 2.4.9.
Fixed
- On Magento 2.4.8 and later, the completed-agreement copy and the order evidence email arrived without their PDF. The PDFs are now attached correctly.
Version 2.0.1 – October 20, 2026
Fixed
- The Agreements > Dashboard admin menu item showed an empty icon box before its title. The icon now displays correctly, and existing admin role permissions are kept.
- Agreement emails no longer fail with "Email template is not defined" when a template setting is blank, uses an identifier from an earlier release, or names a template that no enabled module provides. The module's default template is used instead.
- The app/code package now unpacks to app/code/Techimprovement/Agreement from the Magento root folder.
